Who I am
Former two-time Washington State University Cougar - I majored in Women’s Studies with a minor in Computer Science (why didn’t I get that last class for a minor in Mathematics?!!) and then got a Master’s in American Studies, where I focused my research and thesis on access to technology.
Went from there to consulting at Accenture (Andersen Consulting hired me, but it was Accenture by the time I arrived, thanks in large part to Enron), who staffed me on a variety of projects at Microsoft for a few years.
So I joined Microsoft full-time and have rarely looked back. I’ve worked in many organizations across the company: Information Technology, Product Teams, Supply Chain, Commerce, Marketing, and Operations. My roles and focus have varied as well - commonalities include building technical solutions to automate painful and/or expensive tasks while ensuring security, compliance, accuracy, and scale.
For the better part of a decade, I moonlighted as a competitive soccer coach. I managed to get US Soccer certifications — up to the “C” license — but the better part by far was helping teach young women how to handle adversity, see the benefit of consistent effort applied over time, and have fun! I’m a better person and leader for it - I can only hope they learned half as much as I did.
I have two children who are the lights of my life - they are both in college, seeking their own passions and path. I am lucky for both of them and privileged to see their journeys up close.
I’m seeking new adventures and challenges in 2026, not least of which will be turning 50!
